MISSION STATEMENT

To support parishes in providing a dignified resting place for Catholics in the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, in accordance with Church and State Regulations.

OFFICE OF CEMETERIES

  • Oversees all locations in the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux
  • Provides standardized forms, rules and regulations, policies and procedures
  • Performs parallel accounting for all cemetery locations in the Diocese
  • Works with Acme Mausoleum in planning and constructing mausolea in cemetery locations
  • Provides all accounting for settling and setting up each mausoleum program
  • Provides each location with estimates for placing tombs and vaults under perpetual care
  • Maintains list of approved contractors for cemeteries
  • Provides maintenance for a nominal fee to interested cemetery locations
  • Monitors the operation of St. Joseph Cemetery, Thibodaux

CEMETERIES TRUST COMMITTEE

The Cemeteries Trust Committee meets quarterly to review Cemeteries Trust Investments which are administered by Capital One Bank.

The Cemetery Board meets annually or as needed to make decisions governing Diocesan cemeteries..
