Mission Statement

From many races, varied cultures and diverse places, we form the people of God in the Diocese of Houma- Thibodaux, living and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, in the tradition of the Roman Catholic Church.

>
Vision

By our common Baptism we are formed into one family. Sustained by God's Word we are transformed into Christ as a Eucharistic people. By the Spirit we are deepening our relationship with Christ through on-going spiritual conversion, prayer and worship.

By God's grace we will serve the teaching mission of the Church, drawing forth from its flock vocations and leadership to build God's reign. By evangelizing and embracing Catholic Social Teaching we cherish the life and dignity of every person.

By caring for creation, we preserve the natural beauty of bayous, wetlands, cane and oilfields, entrusted to us by the Creator.

By exercising stewardship of time, talent and treasure, we will provide for the mission of the local and universal Church passing on our legacy.

One in faith, this we seek: to dwell in the presence of God all our days.
