Speak up with A Catholic Voice for Justice!

Diocesan Legislative Advocacy Network
A Catholic Voice for Justice allows people like you to make a real difference in just a few minutes.  Through this ministry, the church calls our legislators to act for justice with a unified, powerful, and prophetic voice.

Alerts are sent to out members about 6 times a year.  Each alert includes information on Catholic Social Teaching, background on an important issue and proposed legislation, talking points, and a sample letter. Nothing could be easier or more effective!

Catholic Charities staff are visiting weekend Masses to set up or expand our Catholic Voice for Justice circles.  Most recently, we've been to Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Golden Meadow and Sacred Heart in Morgan City.  Thanks to the pastors and staff at the churches who’ve hosted us so far, and look for us at your parish!

Also in November, Representative Charlie Melancon came to meet with members of A Catholic Voice for Justice and BISCO, our local CCHD-funded group. We had a conversation about two of our priority issues, coastal erosion and health care reform.  Rep. Melancon also had the opportunity to learn about the work that Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux does in our area.
