What is a Retreat?
The tradition of making a spiritual retreat is in every religion. Jesus led the apostles to quiet places to pray and prepare for their work. Since the beginning of Christianity, Christians have gone in the desert, mountains and other serene settings to be spiritually renewed and become more aware of the presence of God in their lives.
We too need to retreat. God has given us wonderful gifts of life including family, friends, job, school and recreation. Sometimes these everyday commitments are capable of taking too much time, attention and energy. Our lives get out of balance.

A retreat is a time to slow down and discover the light of Christ within us. It is a time to connect more deeply with God so that we may find our true selves and bring our lives back into balance.
By allowing ourselves time to get away from the noise and distractions in our life, we can hear the voice of our Lord more clearly. We can become more focused on the spiritual path God is guiding us toward.
The spiritual renewal a retreat offers helps us go back to our everyday commitments with new energy and enthusiasm. We rediscover the joy in our daily lives.
