Bread or Stones Campaign
Minimize

The Bread or Stones Campaign focuses primarily on improving services in four areas that most impact child well-being: maternal and child health, school readiness and school dropout prevention, marriage and family supports, and child poverty reduction. “In reports such as the Annie E. Casey Annual Kid’s Count, Louisiana has consistently been ranked as one of the worst states in all measures of child well-being. This is completely unacceptable. We can do better,” states Bishop Shelton Fabre. The Bread or Stones Campaign is inspired by Jesus' words in the Gospel of Matthew: "Would one of you hand his child a stone when he asks for a loaf?" How will you answer? Contact Catholic Charities (985-876-0490 or rgorman@htdiocese.org to sign your church up for the Bread or Stones Campaign. For More Information on the Campaign, click here.
