Simply put, Stewardship, in the Christian sense, is managing the affairs of God on earth. A Christian steward serves God out of love and gratitude for the gifts He has given to us and knowing that it is not how much we have but what we do with what we have that is important. Stewardship is a spirituality that can be summarized into four parts: † Receiving the gifts of God with gratitude † Cultivating them responsibly † Sharing them lovingly in justice with others † Standing before the Lord in a spirit of accountability It is up to you to determine how you will live out this stewardship way of life. God has made each of us a steward and has given us abilities and talents that are unique. We should use these abilities and talents to serve God.

              Using God's Gifts to do God's Works

Using God's Gifts to do God's Works is the first of a series of stewardship materials being made available to all parishes in the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux.  Region V Stewardship & Development director's spend time each year at our regional meetings developing, writing, and collaborating on this project.  It is our hope that all Region V dioceses will begin implenting these amazing materials as soon as possible.

The "new" stewardship model takes parishioners away from the time, talent, & treasure model and attempts to develop a more spiritual understanding of stewardship through the three processes of Stewardship known as the Stewardship of Prayer, Stewardship of Ministry, & Stewardship of Finance.
