PRAYER FOR PRIESTS
We thank you for the gift of the priesthood. Particularly, we thank you for the gift of our priests here in the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux.
We beg you to draw our priests closer to the Most Sacred Heart of Your Son, Jesus. And just as you drew together the first apostles, a band of brothers unto whom you imparted a unified mission, draw together now the priests of Houma-Thibodaux. Please hear again the words of your Son who said, “I pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one, as you Father are in me and I in you, that they also might be in us, that the world might believe that you sent me.” (John 17:20-21)
Grant that the hearts of all of our priests may be humble and docile, that You might lead them and together, reveal to them Your Will. Show them your view of the One Body with its many diverse gifts. Heal our diocese from every place of division and allow our unity to be a prophetic sign for our time.
Father, we trust that you are capable of providing much more than we often ask for. And so, at this time we ask for miracles for our priests. Renew them in your love and set their hearts aflame with love and commitment to You and to Your people. Give our priests the grace to welcome the new springtime, which the Holy Spirit is bringing about in the Church. Help them to shepherd us wisely during this time of renewal.
We ask this, through Jesus, the great High Priest
And Mary, Mother of all priests.
Priests Intercessory Prayer Team
Our priests need your prayerful support.
Pray for a priest all year: Our Priests Intercessory Prayer Team allows you to commit to praying for a priest for an entire year. If you enroll to be a Priests Intercessor, you will be assigned a priest and if you desire, we will send you occasional reminders or support to help you along in this important ministry. You will be asked to commit to some form of daily prayer for that priest over the coming year. This might include some suggestions as listed below or some other way you would like to pray.
