The Bishop’s Appeal is Bishop Dorsonville's prayerful call to our parishioners to come together as One Catholic community to support key ministries provided by the diocese that rely on the prayers and generosity of our faithful. Each year thousands of our Catholic faithful come and make a commitment of prayers and financial gifts that directly impact our seminarians, retired priests, Catholic school students, and our parish families across our diocese.

Through your spiritual, philanthropic investment in the Annual Bishop’s Appeal, you help to:
- Educate our diocesan seminarians
- Care for our 14 retired priests with supplemental retirement and long term care insurance
- Support our 10 Catholic Schools through dedicated curriculum specialist and professional development for teachers
- Provide faith formation and training for our youth and adult formation leaders to better serve our parishes
- Ongoing formation for diverse cultures within our diocese including African American, Native American, Vietnamese, Asian Pacific Islanders, and Hispanic Ministries
- Serving more than 500 college students through campus ministry at St. Thomas Aquinas located on Nicholls State University's campus
